What started as two German girls road-tripping across the US (including an impromptu hop over to Hawaii) resulted in a wedding in Honolulu. Ursula met Bill in her hair curlers on the beach near Pearl Harbor in 1962. Fast forward two weeks, and they were married. Advance to now, fifty-six years and five grandchildren later, and the small-town boy from Tennessee and German adventurer are still very much in love. They are endearingly known to me as Oma and Grandpa.
